Dawgs and Cats (and Bruins) living together
Posted: Friday, December 9 at 12:21 am ET by Nate Robinson
LISTEN TO NATE (28 sec.) - I came out of the University of Washington, and I still keep a close eye on the Huskies. I think they’ve got a great team. They’re gonna do just fine this year. They beat Gonzaga over the weekend, and the Zags were the No. 6-ranked team in the nation. So I was pretty excited about that.
I’d like to give a shout out to that whole team. I have so many memories from the UW. Every game, everyday, Will Conroy and I got that team going.
They’ve got a great team and a great coaching staff. All the coaches, the players, everybody makes it a great school. Brandon Roy is going to blow up this season and have a big year.
I really can’t wait for Washington to play against (Pac-10 rivals) Arizona and UCLA. (Knicks teammate Channing Frye played at Arizona, and teammate Trevor Ariza at UCLA). Trevor has been talking a lot of trash. He keeps saying the Huskies are going to lose. I tell him, OK, we’ll see. I’m trying to tell my Dawgs that they need to handle their business.
I think I’m going to make a friendly bet with those guys. Like whoever loses will have to wear a skirt or something, maybe some lipstick with a wig. They’ll have to dress up all silly and then go to a restaurant that the whole team will be at. Hopefully I won’t have to wear that! There’s definitely a lot at stake but I have faith in my team.

Those two guys wearing dresses? It will be the best dressed Knick team since Clyde Frazier retired.
Kirk Jones, North Bend, OR (Sent Dec 9, 2005 12:02:31 PM)

I agree with Nate about his college team, Washington Huskies, they should have an incredible year. They're a team with a lot of talent and will only improve with the next class of recruits coming in. Now about Nate, I think he is a very exciting player and he will be much depth and defense to the knicks. I only hope he learns to be a little more patient in his being agressive because he does that I believe he will become a greater assest than even he imagines. Good luck

Living out here in Phoenix(pac-10 country), I've seen first hand the battles UW, UCLA, and UA have had over the years. I've always been a Knick fan since the days of "skywalker", the "Oak Tree", and of course Patrick Ewing. It's good to see a young group of guys that the Knicks can build around. I wish you the best on your growth in the NBA.

Nate, we miss you in Seattle. Feel free to request a trade to the Sonics...we need to be seeing you around the Key & Queen Anne more often. Congrats on that first dunk in the NBA the other night vs Miami...and the game winner against Iverson...bet that last second shot against AI was imagined and practiced many times back at Rainier Beach High :) Good luck, your intensity and heart are unmatched and truly appreciated.
Erik Hane, Seattle, WA (Sent Dec 11, 2005 5:46:49 AM)
Hi Nate, I Think that you will be a champion with Larry next year and I'm counting on you to win it.
moaz, west bloomfield, Mi (Sent Dec 12, 2005 7:26:15 PM)
Nate,
I'm 5'9 too man. You got me beat on the 180 but, that's probably the football. I love your fearlessness. I know in one of your earlier blogs you said AI was your favorite player and that's a characteristic that ya'll share. Keep it up man. Just out of curiousity are your hops really natural or do you got a secret you could let me in on. You know, just between the 5'9 crew. I got you for rookie of the year too. Peace.
Donnie, South Orange, NJ (Sent Dec 13, 2005 12:06:34 AM)
I just want to say thanx for the best night in my life when you played the sonics! It was so cool seeing you 6 rows up from the floor! Come back to seattle soon!
Lindsey Smith, Lake Stevens, Washington (Sent Dec 13, 2005 11:22:35 AM)
Hello Nathaniel,
this is Mom Conroy, just a shout out to say keep up the good work. Thanks for the shout out to your big brother Will. We know there will be NO checks cashed in the Bank of America Arena. You guys set that agenda last year! I love you and I'm missing seeing you guys twice weekly. I still want my jersey, and call me back.
Renee Conroy, Seattle, WA (Sent Dec 13, 2005 2:52:11 PM)
Hey, you are going to lose this bet - the Huskies are going down! But good luck to you & Channing!
Al, Yuma, AZ (Sent Dec 14, 2005 1:30:45 PM)

Congrads Nate to your early success so far in the league, and I hope you only get better and better with time. Hopefully when Coach Brown finalizes the starting line-up for the Knicks soon, it will include you and Frye, two of the best rookies in the league this year! Take Care & Good Luck!
Anthony Goodley Bronx, NY (Sent Dec 15, 2005 10:44:02 AM)
You are by far the most entertaining rookie to watch this year (sorry Channing & Salim). Even though I'm an Arizona alumni & die hard CATS fan, I loved watching you play as a HUSKY. (There's nothing like a meeting between two teams as evenly matched as the UA & UW.) I don't think this season's games will be as high scoring without you, Salim & Channing, but they'll be worth staying up to watch anyhow. Judging by the time stamps on your posts, you won't have any trouble staying up, too. :) I look forward to seeing you play in person when you're in town to take on the Grizzlies in March. Continued health & success to you!
Angela, Memphis, TN (Sent Dec 18, 2005 8:28:41 PM)
Much love from the DAWG PACK!!
Hope you can make a game this year, Nate...it would get Hec Ed rockin'!
Jeremy (Sent Dec 20, 2005 1:56:18 AM)
Nate...Just want to thank you for staying home and playing ball for the huskies...all you guys turned around that program along with the staff. You are one of the most exciting players to watch...now go out to Ruckers and show them Seatown can ball!!!
Brian, Bellevue WA (Sent Dec 21, 2005 3:03:28 PM)
nate, at UW what position did you play on the football field? I got a bet with a co-worker and I need to win. Keep up the hard work.
