Pulling pranks a messy business
Posted: Tuesday, December 6 at 03:36 am ET by Nate Robinson
Life can be tough as a rookie sometimes because your teammates get to pick on you a little bit. After I hit the game-winner against the 76ers, I had to go home in a wrinkled suit. They tied my suit up with tape, and put my shoes somewhere. They did a whole bunch of stuff. It was really wrinkled, and I had to wear it home.
After the Miami game, some guys put some cream cheese in my shoes. One of the vets put it in the bottom of my shoes and I couldn’t get it out so I just left it in there. I had to go on the plane back to New York with cream cheese in my shoes and socks.
If I had to pick one, I’d say the cream cheese was probably better to deal with because it didn’t mess up my suit. But I’m hoping they’re done.
I don’t know yet who’s been getting me with the pranks. Since I don’t know, I’m going to have to get back everyone on my team! But I have some suspicions. Matt Barnes is No. 1. Barnes and Eddy Curry. Those are my two suspects right now. I think they might be behind the suit prank, too.
I’m not sure what my full revenge will be yet, but I did get Barnes a couple days ago by putting itching powder in his practice gear. I got it in his socks, his shorts, his spandex, everywhere. When they get me, I’ve got to get them back!

Are you the only one getting this treatment or are their other rookies too? If there is another one, I'd suggest you look for a way to make him the go-to guy when it comes to a target for pranks. ;-)

I like the way you think! : )

Nate,
Show them you can get them back then they will stop. Careful though, you don't want the older veterans to get involved. Keep doing your thang.

Nate,
It's fun watching you. Keep working hard. We (your family) are all real proud of you here in the Phoenix area. Write to me so that we can have lunch or dinner when you come to town (Phoenix, AZ).
Your Uncle,
Jerry

I think you overpaid kids need to grow up and start acting as mature adults. You're millionaires in the public eye for crying out loud. Does this happen in any large corporation in America. I think not.
Trey Wingbat (Sent Dec 6, 2005 1:22:08 PM)
It sounds as if they are prime candidates for PUNK'D
Tony, Houston,TX (Sent Dec 6, 2005 1:25:49 PM)
Yes...ha ha. Very funny. Perhaps they should focus more on the 5-11 record rather than playing pranks. I am glad that after a horrible performance in Miami, their minds are on..."how can we get cream cheese into shoes". This just shows what kind of guys Isiah has put on this team. Oh but wait...at least their tickets are cheap....um...um...

That's some funny stuff! I wish I could be a fly on the wall. They should have a reality show for you. I would definately watch it! Personally, I think it's Mo Taylor....Watch your back, Nate...lol. MSNBC should have a poll on which knick was responsible for the cream cheese and other pranks. Nate for Prez!!

I love how hazing is looked down upon in high schools and colleges everywhere, but embraced by all major sports. By the way, if you had been in Ohio, you could've had your teammates arrested for a felony under the Ohio revised code. Now that's revenge!

Listen, I've got one for you to try. I used to work as a cook, and what I would do to new cooks was to staple the cuffs of their chef pants closed when our uniforms came back from the laundry service. Whether they changed at work or home, it was a hoot!

Nate, great to hear that you seem to be comfortable with your team and your teammates. Can't wait to see you and Jamal play against the Sonics tonight. You guys should put on a show for your hometown team.

Nate, I'm a big Knicks fan from South Africa. Keep working hard and it will pay off big time. Pranks are part of breaking the ice and welcoming you. Bigg Up!

Great day by you and Jamal on and off the court.

Nate, continue to focus on the task at hand and always, play big...I predict that you will win the slam dunk contest as long as you remain focused...
Anthony (Sent Dec 7, 2005 6:09:09 AM)
Nate,
Your doing great, keep having fun, I'm excited about this Knicks squad! Lighten up Wingbat, Knicks fan...

Rookies always are the targets of pranks. So stop complaining about the losing record, the money they are making. It's all in good fun.
Nate - Welcome to NYC!!!!

Hey Nate, longtime suffering Knicks fan who's been living out on the West Coast for the past 15 years...last time we had anything worth cheering for was back in the days of Mark Jackson and Patrick Ewing. But hey, you may be too young to remember those guys :o) Here's hoping you at least give us some highlight reels. p.s. nice win last night over the Sonics

Sup Nate Dog? Nice prank with the itching powder. I just wanted to comment on one of the previous blogs by a "Mr. Trey Wingbat". I don't know what boring office your working in but we're constantly playing pranks and joking around at my office. Don't hate on Nate and the Knicks just because they're having a little fun. Keep doing your thing Nate.

Nate, Fill curry's umbrella with flour. Then tie it back up and wait for a rainy day. When he raises it over his head, flour will dump all over him. It would be a great prank....

Nephew,
Knowing you, I know you will figure it out and turn the table. Keep working hard and stay focused. We are extremely proud of you!!

Great game against the sonics. I thought you should of played more in your home town tho. Keep it up!
Hank Buf, NY (Sent Dec 7, 2005 2:37:35 PM)
Nate,
I love stuff that brings teams close together. I coach a high school team, and it seems like some of the little things that happen in the lockerroom can be a bigger factor in playing well than half the drills teams do.
