Nate who?

Nate Robinson. I'm in my second season as a guard for the New York Knicks.

I was a first-round draft pick out of the University of Washington, where I helped take the Huskies to the Sweet 16.

It’s been a long road from high school. No one wanted to give me a chance in hoops at first – don’t know if they thought I was too small or what – but they underestimated me. I even went to Washington on a football scholarship before convincing Coach Romar I could make an impact on the hardwood. Now I'm gonna be the next big thing in the NBA -- even though I'm 5-foot-9.

Early-season report card

Posted: Monday, November 20 at 03:18 am ET by Nate Robinson

We’ve been real busy trying to win as many games as we possibly can. We should have won more of them. I mean, we could have a 9-1 record. We’re working at getting in sync with each other. We’re trying to adjust to that and to each other. We’re definitely playing better than we did last year. It’s just going to take some time.

Pretty much all of our games have been close, unlike last season. This year we’re not getting blown out by anybody.

So if I had to give our team a report card so far, here’s how I’d grade it:

I’d give us an A+ for our effort for sure. For our togetherness, I’d give us an A. For execution I’d give us a C+. We definitely need to execute better. Overall I think we probably deserve a B-. There is room for improvement, for sure.

We have a lot of home games in December, and we’re just looking at each game at a time. Hopefully, we can get an A by the All-Star break.

Coach Isiah says we can always play better. We’ve been finishing games pretty strong for the most part, but starting slow, and he wants us to have that intensity from the start.

I think we’re going to be a good team down the stretch. We’ll make the playoffs as long as we play hard. We’ll win a lot more games than people think we will.

Nate - they need to start you, yo.

You get A+ - Team Gets C+. You are my hero.

there is no A in effort. let's just say that you need to win now. a loss is a loss no matter how close the game was. your record will be the final judge of your team's performance. from my standpoint, you should be a D - woe to us NYK fans.

Have you lost your mind? With a 4-8 record, the Knicks grade an F. That's simply unsatisfactory by any standard. Nate grades a D- for selfishness and turnovers A point guard averaging 1.5 assists and 1.7 turnovers per game shows poor judgement and lack of team focus. Shame on Nate, Isiah and the Knicks. This is going to be another long and disappointing season.

Nate- How can you grade your team a B- with a losing record? It almost sounds as if you equate success this year is anything better than last year. I'm an old school fan since the days of Clyde, Bradley, Reed, etc...those names may not mean much to a new generations but if you ever watch some old clips they do something really wierd: they play as a team, play defense, and pass the ball. Oh and yeah- they won championships. My grade for your team thus far is D. Which is an improvement over last years F-.

you scratched yao on the eye to get a block? you're a dirty player without honor.

Amazingly enough your team has been even more terrible since you fired the possibly the best coach in NBA history, shocking.

Quit now, find some new attitudes, especially on 'Starberry', get a center who can ball, fire Isiah and save yourselves the time. Yo.

I think the team needs to watch tapes of the Ewing/Oakley era...albeit, the rules of the game have changed since then, but that team was tough and knew how to play defense.

Nate I think your a great player, and I love the Knicks, but I think a b- is crazy talk.
The effort is definetely there, but to deserve an overall b of any sort you would have to have at least a .500 record or at least a winning home record.
I love Stephon Marbury but his game has really declined, and Curry has not lived up to expectations.
I think a c- is probably a little more accurate overall.

if everyone plays with as much heart and intensity as you..you guys will make the playoffs

Saw the stuff on Yao - DUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

heres my report card
jamal crawford - A-
nate robinson - A-
QR - B
david lee - B
eddie curry - C+
starbury (don't make me laugh) - C-
channing frye - C-

isaiah passing on marcus williams to get blackmon which they could've gotten in the 2nd round - F
coaching - F

we need JEFF VAN GUNDY BACK! nate you the man keep the hustle.

yo nate, mad love but honestly... B- overall? at 4-8? there is no D on this team like the old days. i'm often ashamed to call this my team.. when the nets move to brooklyn.......

Nate, You get made props for your play. I love the way you served Yao with that block. Any time a player 5' whatever gets one on a big boy like that...it's PRICELE$$.

a B- yeah and the Jazz are the best in the west. Probably not.

You know Francis and Marbury will never work. One has to go. Heck... both could go and NY could get some draft picks or young talent in return would be great too.

Curry is not meant to be a real star, he cannot play defense. I'd trade him as well, start Frye, Lee, Jeffries, Quentin, and you.

Crawford deserves to start but he plays well off the bench as well. NY could use some size down low in the bench whom Balkman would work after he refines his game some.

Nate; I like your game, they should play you more, you got the intensity and passion to fire up the team

Absolutely the most fouled up franchise in all of sports. Dump Thomas.

Nate

I loved the block on Yao last night. Today is my Bday and it was a great present to see you number 1 on the top 10 just like the Arizona game years ago.

Nate, that was a great block on Yao last night. Hang in there, the season is young and sometimes it takes a little time to work the kinks out. You have definitely given small players hope in their basketball dreams and something for everyone to cheer about.

Positive attitude brings positive results. Do you're thing! Hopefully it's contagious!

Damn good block on Yao!!!!!!!!!!!!! you get an A+

Good block on Yao!!!!!!!!! u get A+

i think the team needs to watch game films from the Ewing/Oakley era. Granted, the rules of the game have changed since then, but that team was tough, and knew how to play defense.

I'm a Houston fan, so I'm glad we beat ya'll. But nice block on Yao. Keep up the effort.
