Nate who?

Nate Robinson. I'm in my second season as a guard for the New York Knicks.

I was a first-round draft pick out of the University of Washington, where I helped take the Huskies to the Sweet 16.

It’s been a long road from high school. No one wanted to give me a chance in hoops at first – don’t know if they thought I was too small or what – but they underestimated me. I even went to Washington on a football scholarship before convincing Coach Romar I could make an impact on the hardwood. Now I'm gonna be the next big thing in the NBA -- even though I'm 5-foot-9.

Technical difficulties

Posted: Wednesday, January 31 at 06:43 pm ET by Nate Robinson

Another negative result of the fight vs. the Nuggets – and resulting suspension – is an increase in attention from officials.

In my second game back, against Charlotte, I received a technical with 20 seconds left in the game, and all I did was joke around a couple of Bobcats.

The game was almost over, and I was joking with Sean May, who I’ve known since rookie camp last season.

I said something like “we’re not giving up any dunks in here. Don’t come in here with that.”

And I got a technical for that. Sean’s teammate, Derek Anderson, actually tried to explain to the ref that we weren’t being serious, but it didn’t help.

I don’t know what that was all about, I couldn’t even tell you. But I try not to focus on it too much, just turn the other cheek, you know?

Obviously the refs know about the fight, and they’re probably looking for anything I do. I have to be on my toes and be on my best behavior. But that’s nothing new!

Well Dude, I hate to tell you, but you came across like a hoodlum in that fight. Up to that point, I looked at you as one of the refreshing stories in the season. You were playing well and I was digging the scrappiness of your game. But I happened to catch the actual game that night, and to say I was taken aback is an understatement. It may take you a while to live that moment down. I'm still a fan of your game, but I have a different perspective now, and it's not based on anything the press may present or show. It's all about what I saw that night for myself.

that's OD if you ask me. the Ref's are against you or something?

I still don't think you should change your whole demeanor just because of ONE fight. Truth be told, the "Tough" Nate played much better than the "Nice" Nate. If you keep looking at yourself and try to keep up that so-called "nice" demeanor, of course you're going to play an not-so-good game. Just be you, and your game will pick up like it was before. And what's up with Channing Frye? Are you guys playing video games late at night or something, because the both of you aren't really putting out on the court, if you know what I mean.

What up Nate,

Besides the quick technicals from referees there's another downfall to the fight. You didn't make the sophmore team this season dispite putting up the same numbers as last year when you made the rookie team. No worries, prove to them why you should have been on that team and go defend that dunk title.

hey nate. I think what you did was ok. you were just protecting your teammates.

Good Luck in the Slam Dunk contest!
on Saturday Feb. 17th.

Sunday, the 18th is Chinese New Year - Year of the Pig. I just read that you like spring rolls and sweet 'n sour sauce, so maybe you can go out for Chinese while you're in Vegas. Or go to a Hawaiian buffet. :-)

Nate - You and Melo cool?

Hey Nate, Speaking of you bad rap...I read an article in Newsday that bashed you pretty good. When you read the article below it do think, "This guy, ALAN HAHN, doesn't know what he's talkiing about!" or do think "DANG, I better get my act together."

I'm a big Fan, I want to see you and Knicks succeed.

Nate, my friend Mike and I watched many of your games with the Huskies during your last year at UW. You were so exciting to watch and always so enthusiastic on the court. You were a big reason that team made it to the Sweet 16. Last year, we couldn't understand why you started out so well for the Knicks and then suddenly disappear to the bench. I ran into Romar, who was at a Curtis game scouting Thomas. I shared with him how disappointed I was with your lack of playing time. The first words out of his mouth were "Nate is someone special!" This year we have not seen much playing time even with a different coach. After reading the Newday article, I'm wondering HAS ROBINSON FORGOTTEN WHAT HAD MADE HIM SPECIAL? Life is too short! You'll never get back the lost year and a half playing time. My BIG QUESTION is what does Nate need to do to bring that special player and person back to life. I watch the sports page scores each morning looking for your stats. Your opportunities in the NBA are too short and too precious to waste away on the bench. You can do it! You're the Man!

Hey Nate, I know a lot of people are judging you because of your actions on Dec. 16th...but I admire that you stick up for your friends like that. It's all about friendship, and looking out for each other. Some teams don't have that, but one thing I love about the Knicks is how you guys all care about each other and are all close friends. All you were trying to do was defend your friends, and that's what it's all about, so take care and GO KNICKS!!!! Make the playoffs for me!!!!

It needs to be all about taking responsibily for one's actions. Having followed your blog after the fight, I haven't picked up on much of that. Blaming the refs for a couple of T's makes it sound like you are just the king of excuses.

Hey nate, I think what you did was foul, actually a techinical foul. Dont talk trash like that and dont fight. We come to b-ball games to see great finishes, and holla at our home teams. Leave the fighting on the playground your in the NBA now!!!
