Nate who?

Nate Robinson. I'm in my second season as a guard for the New York Knicks.

I was a first-round draft pick out of the University of Washington, where I helped take the Huskies to the Sweet 16.

It’s been a long road from high school. No one wanted to give me a chance in hoops at first – don’t know if they thought I was too small or what – but they underestimated me. I even went to Washington on a football scholarship before convincing Coach Romar I could make an impact on the hardwood. Now I'm gonna be the next big thing in the NBA -- even though I'm 5-foot-9.

Time to focus on playoffs

Posted: Monday, February 19 at 02:45 am ET by Nate Robinson

Now that All-Star weekend is behind us, it's time to focus on the second half of the season. Looking at the standings now, we are sitting on 23 wins, matching the number we had all of last season.

I know we still have a long way to go, but I can’t help but feel excited about the improvements we’ve made since last season.

We’re the best rebounding team in the East and one of the better scoring teams, too. If we cut down on our turnovers and just keep chipping away, we can move up in the East, and even become a playoff team. I really believe that.

In fact, I think we can win our division, honestly. We just finished up a tough road, and we held our own, which I think will really boost our confidence. A little five-or-six game winning streak would really be nice of course.

Then, looking ahead at the schedule, we need to play well in two games against Toronto in March. If we can at least get a split in those games, and then win the games we’re supposed to win, we’ll be right in the thick of things.

Sure, things might be different if we were in the West. The Rockets, for example, are currently in third place in the Southwest Division, and the fifth seed overall in the West. Yet they would have the best record in the East.

But we can’t worry about that, of course. We just have to keep working hard, having fun, and take advantage of our situation to move up in the standings.

We’ve gotten way, way better since last season, it’s great to see how we’ve improved. The sky is the limit in the second half of the season.

yooo nate i truly belive that i am your biggest fan. It was a really bad time for you to get sick when jamal got injured because that was your time to shine. now franchise is playing well but u should get some more minutes then you have been lately on the bench. You should be playing more then mardy collins because he played more then you on saturday. I hope tbat was only a one time thing because it was your first game back from when you were sick. I think if you played 35 minutes a game you would average at least 20 points a game. I hope you get more playing time I hate it when you dont play because i know you should. O yeah and your probably the best half court or longer shooter in the NBA. I was going nuts when you made that second one. Im goin to the game sat night against the hornets. You always play good when im there, for example I was there when u almost single handingly won the game against the cavs, u had 19. Against milwalkee i think you had 21.
