Nate who?

Nate Robinson. I'm in my second season as a guard for the New York Knicks.

I was a first-round draft pick out of the University of Washington, where I helped take the Huskies to the Sweet 16.

It’s been a long road from high school. No one wanted to give me a chance in hoops at first – don’t know if they thought I was too small or what – but they underestimated me. I even went to Washington on a football scholarship before convincing Coach Romar I could make an impact on the hardwood. Now I'm gonna be the next big thing in the NBA -- even though I'm 5-foot-9.

Things looking up for Knicks

Posted: Tuesday, May 15 at 07:59 pm ET by Nate Robinson

In looking back at our season, I think there is a lot of reason for optimism. I think the team chemistry was there. I’d give us a  C or C+. Toward the end of the season a couple of guys got hurt. Jamal Crawford was out. Quentin Richardson was out. David Lee was out. Steve Francis was out. We had a lot of guys with injuries and the young guys stepped up.

I don’t believe in bad or good luck, but we got hit by injuries. With me, Mardy Collins and those guys, we had to step up. With all those guys hurt, that’s 60 points a night gone right there. But that just happens, that’s the way the world goes.

That’s your route. You’re never going to stay on the same route, your going to have detours and pit stops along the way. They taught us so much during the year. Mardy acts and plays like a veteran. Renaldo Balkman got hurt the last five or six games, too and that hurt us.

When we’re healthy we’ll be a dangerous team, and that’s why I’m so looking forward to next year. The season came and went so fast. Let’s start the new season right now. I’m ready to go!

We get two picks in the NBA draft. It will be fun. I can’t wait to see what the team will look like and everything.

It will be great having Coach Isiah back, too. Guys on the team were so happy when he got his extension. He had a tough job given just one year like that. That was a lot of pressure on him. We won 33 games this year, which wasn’t great, but an improvement. It’s cool to see Isiah come in and contribute positively with the team like he did. We played almost every game close this year.

It just shows what kind of team we have. Great chemistry, great young guys and good vets. We’re making progress. Maybe not as fast as some people would like. They say we should be winning now. But it takes time, and we’re going to get there.

I agree with you on all points but.....

I'm pretty sure we've just got one pick this season.....not two.....

So what do you think about Jermaine O'neal possibly making his way to NY?....

yeah as a knick fan im also excited with our team. i cant wait to watch knicks games in nba tv here.
as a player, do you believe the rumor of jermaine o'neal going to the knicks will happen?

Hey N8,
Always enjoy watching you play. You bring so much energy to the court. I have one question and one comment.

Question: Is Stefan Marbury still as hard to play with, as he used to be?

Comment: I disagree with your grading of the knicks. We should look at the team (or any team) performance like in school, where making playoff or making 0.500 in the win/loss column, depending on which one achieved first, should be viewed as the passing grade. In that case, F is the failing grade in school. Therefore, any team not making playoff or hitting the .500 should get an F, or the most, a "D" grade.
Hence, I grade the knicks a "D" for not meeting the mark, but at least showing potential and being entertaining at the same time.

Nate, would you like to play with Ron Artest?

i thought we only got one pik in this draft the one we swap with the bulls

Yo Nate, if they gave you more minutes, youll be as AI or T-BUG or even better. Keep playing like that. Youre the best. I copy your style man.
